Highlights 2008

Hiking and Leisure Time

Every season has its “highlights”: Spring features the floral blossom hikes, whilst early summer
features the alpine roses; high summer features the three and four thousand metre peaks, or –
less demanding – the alpine grazing pastures; and last but not least, the autumn features the
low mountain ranges. Stopping off at an inn is a part of the hiking tradition, and there are quite
a few opportunities in Schenna and the nearby vicinity…

Movement in nature

Nordic Walking is a new trend sport and can be practiced by every person, independent from the condition. Nordic Walking has its origins in Finland and is the perfect stamina training for overweight persons, elderly people, newcomers and fitness enthusiasts.
The movement pattern of Nordic Walking is nearly identical to the one of cross-country skiing. In addition to leg muscles, torso and the upper part of the body are also trained. Furthermore, it is an ideal training for the cardiovascular system, as it is easy to dispense and to regulate the training.

Natur Fitness Park – Scena

The Nature-Fitness-Park Schenna-Hirzer-Meran 2000 was opened in June 2004 with 4 trails. Three more trails were added in 2005. The 7 trails have got different difficulty levels and an own signposting. Thanks to the clear signposting the trails are also ideal if you want to practice this sport alone.

The Nordic-Fitness-Park includes the following three hiking areas: Scena, Hirzer and Merano 2000.
